Mid Victorian Shirt
1840-1870
1840 marked the transition towards the fully shaped shirt which we know today. The front or bib of this shirt is pleated in much the same way as earlier shirts but the sleeves are set in and the square under-arm gussets finally abandoned.
These shirts are made up in an excellently authentic cotton cambric which has no disturbingly modern easi-care qualities.
They do shrink after the first wash but are made to take account of this so please order your normal size
Curved shirt tails.
